BigRicePianoI felt your hand on mine squeezing tighter as you glimpsed the blue of the sea. You could not get out of the amazement, as the glow in your eyes told me unmistakably.

This was the sea.

Your hand began to pull on mine as if the waves were calling you, with their gentle movements and their silent roar. Should I let go of your little hand, would you run off across the sand towards and past the waves until you finally disappeared into the distant blue?

I knew that someday you would face a journey that would drive you away from me – from here to beyond the horizon. And I'll need to be ready to let you go.
